Here you’ll find the most frequently asked questions about Maxhaust Valve Control

Is the Maxhaust Bridge required?

Yes, the Bridge is the key component for all Maxhaust add-ons. Together with the Bridge app, it controls and manages all connected Maxhaust products.

The Bridge is essentially the heart of the system.

Can the system be controlled via my vehicle drive profiles or other buttons?

Yes. On most vehicles, control via the drive profiles is also possible—for example, Audi “Drive Select” (Comfort, Auto, Dynamic) or Mercedes “Agility” profiles.

In addition, buttons such as ESP or cruise control can also be used for control. You can set the preferred option in the smartphone app.

Can the system be switched off?

Yes. Depending on the vehicle, the system can be switched on and off using the factory vehicle buttons as well as via the app.

What happens when returning a leased vehicle?

The system can be removed and returned to stock.

So far, however, we have not had any negative experiences with lease returns.

Does it fit every car?

Exhaust valve controllers are generally vehicle-specific and must match the factory electronic exhaust valves.

How does an exhaust valve controller work?

Many modern vehicles come from the factory with an exhaust valve control system. In this setup, an exhaust valve integrated in the rear muffler area is controlled electronically.

The opening and closing of this valve depends on various parameters. In general, two key goals are pursued:

First, the system allows the vehicle’s character to be adapted to different driving demands. Using different drive modes—such as Sport or Comfort—the vehicle can be driven with a sportier, louder sound profile or with a more comfort-oriented, quieter setup.

Second, the exhaust valve control system helps ensure compliance with applicable emissions and noise regulations.

Will TÜV detect the controller?

With a well-hidden installation (not visible) and when used in the factory/stock mode, it is difficult to detect.

Does the controller work while driving?

Yes, switching happens in real time.

You are responsible!

Factory exhaust valve control systems allow enthusiastic vehicle owners to combine comfort and sporty performance. This way, the car can be driven powerfully and emotionally outside built-up areas, while remaining discreet and restrained at night or in residential areas.

However, factory systems often show weaknesses: the exhaust valve does not always open or close at the desired moment. Our solution gives you full control over your vehicle’s sound. You decide when your vehicle sounds powerful or pleasantly subtle.

At the same time, we ask all customers to use this capability responsibly and considerately. Only by using exhaust valve controllers sensibly can we help ensure that this technology remains available in future vehicle generations—without additional restrictions or stricter noise regulations.
